Why is the amount which reaches the beneficiary sometimes less than the amount sent?
If the beneficiary receives less than the amount you sent, it is likely due to shared charges applied to an international SWIFT payment. In this case, intermediary banks and the beneficiary bank may deduct fees from the transfer amount as it moves through the payment chain.
SWIFT payments are sent with shared charges as default, which means the full amount may not always arrive with the beneficiary. These deductions are controlled by the receiving and intermediary banks, not by Freemarket.
If your beneficiary needs to receive the full amount without deductions, please speak to your account manager.
