Q: What should I do if I've forgotten my password?

Go to the login screen and click forgot password , this will bring up the next screen for you to enter your email address. Enter your email address and click continue. You will receive an email with further instructions. Note that you may need to check your spam folder for this. How do I set up 2FA on my account?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) or multi-factor authentication adds an extra degree of protection, and all users have to provide this code in order to access their account and make cross-border payments.

A user is only permitted access to an application or website using the 2FA electronic authentication procedure after successfully showing two or more pieces of evidence, including knowledge, possession, and inherent characteristics. Here are a few examples of this:

Something you know - a password or a pin
Something you have - a smartphone
Something you are - a fingerprint or facial recognition

Each user must configure 2FA, you can't do this for others at your organisation.

With the two-factor authentication enabled on your account, you would require an additional 6-digit verification code for a successful sign in to Freemarket.

To create a time-based one-time password (TOTP) that will change each time you use it, we advise setting up two-factor authentication on an app. For this, we advise adopting a cloud-based application. The majority of applications available would support this. Below we've listed some of the options available to you.

You must enter a verification code if 2FA is enabled on your Freemarket account in order to sign in successfully.

After setting up 2FA, a 30-day window will open for your account. Otherwise, on the 30th day, you will be asked to perform 2FA during a period of activity. If you are unable to execute 2FA in order to pass the checkup, you must utilise the given shortcut to modify your 2FA settings and maintain platform access.

If there is a phone number registered on the account, then a verification code will be sent to the registered mobile number as a primary option for 2FA

After downloading one of the authenticator applications, you have the option of manually entering the information or scanning a QR code
The authenticator app will display a 6-digit verification number after scanning the QR number; this code automatically refreshes every 30 seconds. You must enter this code in the verification code text box above and select verify
If everything goes smoothly the app's setup will be finished

Please note: If your current password does not meet the new complexity rules you will be prompted to change your password: once the password is updated, you will be sent back to the sign in page so you can log in with your updated credentials to sign in.

Once you've successfully set up the authenticator app, subsequent logins will require the verification code it creates, so when you enter your credentials, the next screen you'll be provided with will ask you to input the verification code.

Open the authenticator app
Enter the the 6-digit verification code displayed on the authenticator app and click on sign in

Please email support@wearefreemarket.com to disable or resetting your authenticator app if you experience any difficulties logging in. This will enable you to install the authenticator app on either your current or new smartphone.

STEP 1: We will email you a unique registration URL link for each and every company you are looking to register to your login email address and account. You will be prompted to log in once you click each link.

STEP 2: ** You will be instantly taken to a 'Verify Account' screen where you will be asked to enter the company details and information needed in five easy steps for the new business registration.

STEP 3: Once you've completed registering your companies, you can navigate to your main Dashboard on your account and select the 'Your Registrations' option where you can view the status of any outstanding registrations.

STEP 4: Please click the 'Continue Registration' option if you haven't finished the registration process yet. You'll be able to pick up where you left off and continue the application. The registration will appear as pending if it is being reviewed.

You will only be able to keep track of the progress of registrations that you made since registrations are connected to the person who began the process.

Question 3

What are approvals and roles on the platform & how to change them?

There are five main user roles on the platform; client admin, account user, read only, exchange approver and withdrawal approver – these are all permissions that a client can manage themselves.

Client Admin: being able to create payments, exchanges and manage users
Exchange Approver: this user will be able to approve an exchange before it is actioned and scheduled
Read Only: unable to make any changes, create payments or exchanges and only allowed to view features of the platform
Account User: able to create payments and exchanges on the platform
Withdrawal Approver: this permission setting will be able to approve a withdrawal before it is actioned and scheduled
Manage Users: this enables you to temporarily suspend or reinstate users, modify permissions, and add or delete people

Each of the user roles has different permissions, meaning they can access different parts of the platform. You can also disable email notifications for a particular user if preferable, and they don’t want to be notified via email. The overriding administrator of the account can set up the different permissions or contact support if you are unable to do this and require assistance.

What kind of payments can I make?

There are a number of different payments schemes and types of payments that you can make.

Cross-border Payments or International Payments: a cross-border payment or international payment is sending a payment from one country to another. They are key for businesses that operate in different jurisdictions and plan to do business in new markets.
Domestic Payment: a domestic payment within the same country where the bank and merchant’s account are registered in the same country, in most cases, the currency is the same, so no FX or Foreign Exchange is required.

Types of payment schemes

SWIFT: this is used to send or receive international payments via the SWIFT payment network.
SEPA: SEPA stands for Single Euro Payments Area and it's a payment type used to transfer euro within the EEA.
SEPA Instant: allow you to send 100,000 per transaction, they are available 24/7, 365 days a year, and take no more than 10 seconds to reach payee’s account from the payer’s.
Faster Payments (FPS): for the majority of UK-based payments Faster Payments is in place for bank-to-bank payments and designed to speed up the process of sending money. It has a limit in place of £1m per transaction.
Target2: is the real-time gross settlement (RTGS) system with payment transactions being settled processing euro payments.
CHAPS: CHAPS payments allow you to make same-day, high-value electronic payments.
BACS: is designed to operate a bank-to-bank payment scheme, payments can take up to three working days to clear.

Question 5

What does a pending deposit mean?

A pending deposit represents a transaction in which our operations team has not yet allocated the funds. The reference that you have been given should be included in every bank transfer you make so that we can reconcile the funds when necessary.

A transfer won't be reconciled unless you give us confirmation of it. Our operations team may credit the account that you would like the funds to be added to by giving evidence, and this will be reflected up on your balances.

Can I make a one time batch payment?

You can quickly, correctly, and effectively send payments to many recipients in different currencies by uploading a single file. Every 30 days, you will be prompted to authorise the beneficiaries using the platform's 2FA feature.

Each payment on the file must abide by the reachability, message content, and file rules. Payments that are halted during an investigation are removed from the file, and the remaining payments continue to be processed as usual.

Although uploaded files will be processed throughout the day, we advise using the standard FX procedure for one-time transactions that aren't multi-currency.

Question 7

Does the platform allow to settle funds globally?

Accepted Answer

The business is global in its reach, and we transfer money internationally. We can pay the designated beneficiary as long as the beneficiary information is accurate and authorised.

Once you have confirmed the transaction's value, provided the beneficiary information is accurate, the funds are available on the platform, and you are using a currency pair you have access to, the transaction information and beneficiary details might permit us to make a payment on your behalf.

It's important to keep in mind that the platform uses UTC time, thus the settlement timeframes may vary as a result. We enable you in optimising your funds across various markets, jurisdictions, and time zones.

Question 8

How do you reconcile funds?

Our operations team must manually reconcile any payments when the funds that you have added are missing a reference; this could lead us to be delayed with your exchange and payment. We can reconcile the funds if you indicate where they need to go, therefore please let us know.

We locate the funds that have been moved to the segregated account(s) and credit the account that you have verified to us as part of our internal reconciliation procedure. The funds will be accessible on the balances tab under the currency once the amounts have been reconciled.

Once cleared, you can continue to make B2B payments.

How do I spot a fake, fraudulent or phishing email or website?

Phishing is a type of email attack in which a fraudster sends you an email while impersonating a person, business, or reliable website in order to obtain your passwords or other sensitive information or gain complete control of your computer.

The majority of phishing efforts take place via email, but fraudsters will use every method they can think of to get you to give them your information or money, including:

Fraudulent emails and other messages that look like they're from legitimate companies
Fake invoices saying you’ve missed a payment
Misleading pop-ups and ads that say your device has a security problem
Scam phone calls or voicemails that impersonate employees at companies
Fake promotions that offer free products and prizes

It’s best to be vigilant at all times, fraudsters want your personal details for a number of reasons. Freemarket will never ask you for any personal data. If you receive a message and are unsure it’s really from Freemarket, check to see if it does any of the following:

Uses generic, impersonal greetings like "Dear user" or "Dear [your email address]." We'll always refer to you in our correspondence by your first and last name or by your company name. Greetings like "Dear user" or "Hello Freemarket member" are never used by us.
Requests that you click on links that lead to phoney websites. Before clicking any links in emails, always double-check them. A link can have a secure appearance, such as www.wearefreemarket.com/SpecialOffers. To view the actual location, be sure to hover your cursor over the link. Don't click on the link if you aren't sure.
Has unidentified attachments. Open an attachment only if you are certain it is trustworthy and safe. Pay particular attention to invoices from businesses and contractors you are unfamiliar with. Some attachments contain viruses that install themselves when opened.
Projects a false feeling of urgency. Phishing emails frequently use alarmist language and urge you to update your account right away.
